STUDIO 1111 - Ceiling Grid

 

At Studio 1111 on Potsdamerstraße, a custom ceiling grid was installed to support an array of mounted projectors and technical systems. This flexible structure allowed the space to be continually transformed into new immersive worlds. By projecting shifting images and atmospheres across the room, the ceiling grid became both a technical framework and an artistic instrument, enabling a dynamic reimagining of the studio environment.

Beyond its utilitarian purpose, the grid acts as a spatial instrument. By enabling projection, movement, and light to interact across its surface, it transforms technical infrastructure into a compositional element. Images drift, fade, and overlap, turning the ceiling into an active participant in the experience of the room.

Constructed from a modular framework of precision-cut aluminium profiles, the grid integrates both strength and adaptability. Its clean geometry conceals complex cabling and mounting systems while maintaining a refined visual presence. Suspended just below the existing ceiling, it establishes a new horizon within the space — a plane of quiet order amid the room’s shifting atmospheres.

Through this interplay of engineering and imagination, the Ceiling Grid becomes more than a support system — it is the foundation for transformation, a piece of invisible architecture that allows the studio to reinvent itself again and again.
